Do any of these concerns sound familiar?

  • Living overseas, you worry about responding promptly to messages from the school.
  • A Japanese high school has asked for a guardian or a local contact in Japan.
  • You want someone who can coordinate between the school and your family when your child needs help.
  • You want a contact system in place in case of illness or accidents, when parents overseas must be reached.
  • You want a way to keep watch over your child's life in Japan from abroad.

KAISEI stands between parents and the school, supporting the communication and coordination you need.

KAISEI International Student Guardianship Service

Our annual basic service centers on two things: school communication and emergency contact.

01 · School Communication

School Communication & Coordination

We handle communication and coordination with the school on behalf of parents living overseas.

  • Checking and relaying school notices
  • Coordinating between the school and parents
  • Responding to school inquiries and notices

We confirm in advance the role and requirements the school expects of a guardian, and act within the scope defined in the contract.

02 · Emergency Contact

Emergency Contact

We set up a contact system in case your child faces an emergency in Japan such as illness or an accident.

  • Emergency point of contact
  • Contacting parents and sharing the situation
  • Coordinating with the school as needed

Who receives emergency calls, by what means and at what hours will be confirmed before the contract.

The basic service is for emergency communication and coordination; it does not include medical treatment, emergency response, or rushing to the scene. We cannot make medical decisions or provide medical care. If hospital accompaniment or on-site attendance is needed, it may be available for an additional fee depending on the situation.

The basic service also includes attending school events (entrance and graduation ceremonies, etc.), mail handling, and study and life consultation.

Because we are parents too, we understand.

Supporting a child who comes from overseas to study in Japan takes more than communicating with the school. We believe it also means understanding how parents feel when they live far away.

Parents watching over their child1

We are parents ourselves.

Our own children attend schools in Japan. We know the joy of watching children grow, and we also know how it feels to wonder about their school life and daily routine.

That is why we stand in the parents' shoes and support families watching over their children from abroad.

Supporting international students at school2

We have real experience supporting international students.

Teenagers often don't contact their parents very much.

We visit school events, capture your child in photos and videos, and share them with you overseas for peace of mind.

Students learning together and thinking about the future3

We value learning together and thinking about the future.

For students in Japan, it matters to have chances to think about further education and careers, not just school life.

We share what we have learned from our own education and from the students around us, encouraging young people to think about their future.

Close to parents' hearts, supporting learning in Japan.

KAISEI Co., Ltd. supports your child's life as a student, as a familiar point of contact connecting overseas parents and schools in Japan.

* A "guardian" and a "personal guarantor" may have different roles depending on the school. We check the school's rules and documents before advising which services we can undertake.

Guardian vs. Personal Guarantor in Japan

In Japan, the "guardian" (hogosha dairinin) and the "personal guarantor" (mimoto hoshonin) that schools ask for are not necessarily the same.

A guardian mainly takes on the parent's role in school communication, procedures and emergency contact. A personal guarantor may be asked to provide financial guarantees, such as for unpaid tuition.

KAISEI's guardianship service does not provide financial guarantees. We confirm the role your school requires in advance and explain what we can undertake.
